Benridge Care Homes Ltd was acquired by Mr and Mrs Paul McLaughlin in November 1980 as a residential care home. Over this period the home was redeveloped to increase the occupancy levels and to improve the condition of the home.
In 2004 a need for dementia care was identified and the home therefore changed its registration to E.M.I Residential. In 2010, their daughter, Lisa rejoined the company and became the Registered Manager. Having no experience of Dementia, she began to research the impact of those living with the condition. Subsequently, Benridge has undertaken a radical transformation, to provide a Dementia-friendly environment and a more person-centered approach.
In November 2011, the Group acquired a second home, Good Companions, which has undergone similar transformations as Benridge. This home has a brand new Beauty Salon and an exciting Residents’ Kitchen.
On 14th September 2016, Asmall Hall became the Group’s third home. Like Good Companions, much work needs to be done on this home; to improve it’s level of care, the decor inside and the structure.
